But we don't just hire trainees: we are looking for personalities who want to become part of the MEDI team and therefore carefully select our future specialists.

Kaufleute im Groß- und Außenhandelsmanagement

Wholesale and foreign trade management assistants specializing in wholesale buy goods of all kinds from manufacturers or suppliers and sell them on to trade, craft and industry. They ensure cost-effective warehousing and a smooth flow of goods, i.e. they monitor the logistics chain, check incoming goods and stock levels, reorder goods and plan the delivery of goods.

In the training company, trainees learn, for example:

  • how to compare offers, in particular with regard to type, condition, quality, quantity, price, packaging costs, delivery time and terms of delivery and payment
  • how to assess logistics services from an economic and ecological point of view and how to conclude contracts
  • how to determine the demand for various articles and product groups, taking into account the development of sales and inventories, as well as sales opportunities
  • how to develop proposals for the composition of market-oriented assortments, taking into account products that are customary in the industry
  • how to set and monitor delivery dates and what to consider when dealing with complaints
  • what services, after-sales service and guarantees are offered and how to present their effect as a marketing tool
  • what to consider when maintaining relationships with customers and business partners and how to implement customer loyalty measures and act in a customer-oriented manner
  • how to select and use logistics services
  • what measures are to be taken to control the flow of goods and stock levels
  • how to monitor delivery dates, accept, inspect and document goods, and deal with complaints In addition, knowledge of topics such as rights and obligations during training, organization of the training company and environmental protection is taught throughout the training program.

At the vocational school, the trainee acquires further knowledge:

  • in job-specific learning areas (e.g. planning, implementing and monitoring marketing, preparing, evaluating and using company results)
  • in general education subjects such as German and economics and social studies.

Requirements:

  • Diligence (e.g. when carrying out company accounting or checking goods).
  • Willingness to make contacts (e.g. with customers and suppliers)
  • Negotiating skills and assertiveness (e.g. when conducting contract negotiations on the purchase price or on delivery conditions)
  • Diligence (e.g. when carrying out operational accounting or when checking goods)
  • Commercial thinking (e.g. when preparing calculations and offers)

Fachkraft für Lagerlogistik

Warehouse logistics specialists receive goods, check them and store them properly. They compile deliveries and route plans, load and ship goods. They also help optimize logistical processes.

They assemble deliveries and pack the goods. They also load trucks, operate forklifts and secure freight against slipping or leaking.

In the training company, trainees learn, for example:

  • how to check the quantity and quality of goods, record incoming data and create error logs
  • how to check accompanying documents for correctness and completeness in accordance with company specifications, taking into account customs and hazardous goods regulations
  • which standards, dimensions, units of quantity and weight are to be observed
  • how to store goods in compliance with storage regulations
  • how to handle dangerous goods, hazardous substances, customs goods and perishable goods in particular, taking into account markings and symbols
  • which transport packaging and filling materials are to be selected with regard to the type of goods, mode of transport, environmental compatibility and economic efficiency
  • how to load and stow shipments according to the characteristics of the goods and means of transport
  • how to maintain the quality and value of goods during their storage period
  • how to prepare loading lists and loading plans in compliance with loading regulations
  • how to process shipping and accompanying documents and comply with foreign trade regulationshow to ensure communication with preceding and subsequent functional areas.
  • In addition, knowledge of topics such as rights and duties during training, organization of the training company and environmental protection is taught throughout the training.

In the vocational school one acquires further knowledge:

  • in job-specific learning areas (e.g. optimizing logistical processes, determining and evaluating key figures, planning tours)
  • in general education subjects such as German and economics and social studies.

Requirements:

  • Good physical condition (e.g., switch between working in unheated and drafty warehouses, air-conditioned offices, cold storage or outdoors at any time of the year)
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail (e.g., load, unload, and assign storage locations, properly assemble supplies for shipment)
  • Spatial awareness (e.g., stow goods in warehouse considering type of goods, condition, volume, and weight)
  • Manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination and circumspection (e.g. operating conveyor systems or hoisting equipment, taking the surroundings into account)

In addition to technical training, we attach great importance to the teaching and development of social skills, the so-called "soft skills". We demand and encourage independent action, the ability to work in a team and to deal with criticism, as well as reliability. During their training, our trainees pass through the following departments (depending on the specialization of the training):

  • Quality control
  • Shipping
  • Engineering
  • Warehouse
  • Sales (domestic/export)

In order to prepare the trainees in the best possible way for their future employment, you will receive regular product training from our specialist staff. We also support you with in-house English lessons, exam preparation and send you to the cable plant in Ingolstadt for a week.
